The holidays will soon be upon us!
Here’s a great gift giving idea that you can make yourself!
This Saturday, November 9, I’ll be giving a presentation
at the local Dallas Calligraphy Guild ( Kaligrafos) meeting.
The topic is “Lettering on Ornaments”.
I’ll be demonstrating the how to’s of making a completely personalized decorated ornament.
From lettering on a rounded surface to adding ribbons, trims, fancy hooks, laminated photos
and other decorations to enhance the look.
Personalized ornaments make a great gift and can be made to commemorate any occasion:
Holiday, New Baby, New Home,Wedding, Engagement, Graduation, Birthday,
Retirement, Sports Team Win, Teacher Gift, Anniversary, the list goes on!
Who would you create one for?
The meeting starts at 9:30 am at First United Methodist Church in Richardson, Texas – 503 North Central Expressway, Room 217 A.
Park on the north side of the building towards the west.
The presentation will begin after the business meeting.
There will be 24 “supply packets” available for $5.00.
Those will go fast. So best to bring your own white ornaments.
You’ll also need a brush.
I suggest an inexpensive type that works well such as Loew-Cornell Soft Comfort liner, size 10/0.
Or Loew-Cornell Soft Comfort in Round, size 0.
You can find them at Joann Fabrics for around $3.00.
Red and Green paint will be provided.
Afterwards, there will be a holiday bazaar with hand made items for sale made by Kaligrafos members.
I’ll have some holiday ornaments available for purchase.
I am no longer taking custom orders for this Christmas.
So if you’d like one and don’t want to make it yourself, you can purchase one of these.
I hope you can join me!
Have a Whipper Snapper Wednesday:)
